The SPRINTERS Observatory
Its mission of is to contribute to improve sport governance in protected areas so that sport becomes not only a benefit to the individual and collective wellbeing, but a development resource that contributes to create more active, responsible, prosperous and sustainable local communities.
For achieving these tasks, a series of indicators has been developed to make possible an objective analysis of the impact of the four different sport activities (running, Nordic walking, mountain bike and canoeing) which have been carried out in selected natural areas of partners’ territories. The indicators have been distributed in eight different categories:
- Physical environment
- Biological environment
- Cultural heritage
- Socio-economic impact
- Environmental awareness
The list of them can be consulted in this webpage, where it is also shared the values achieved in the different competitions realized by partners. The conformation of this list ensures the comparison between the different territories.
In addition to the access to the collection of the created indicators, it can be consulted the analysis and processing of generated information. This analysis is important to assess the impacts and the benefits of sports activities in protected natural areas.
It is also presented some graphics representing the values achieved during the running of the project.
